Pierre Baste (1768-1814). He served in the navy under the Republic and then the First Empire where he acquired the rank of Rear Admiral. Made a Count of the Empire in 1809, he became commander of the sailors of the Guard. He became brigadier general in 1812 and was killed in action during the French campaign in 1814. Old manufacture of Gustave Vertunni, France, around 1940. Solid lead figurine. Scale 55mm to the eye line. Overall height : 60 – 65mm.
