General Louis Lemoine (1764-1842). A division general during the wars of the Revolution, he returned to service in 1809, commanding the infantry divisions of the Grande Armée. During the 100 days, he commanded the besieged forces of the city of Mézières, and continued to defend it despite the Emperor’s surrender. Made by Gustave Vertunni, France, circa 1950.
