Gaspard, Comte de Coligny (1519-1572). He lived through the reigns of François 1er, Henri II, Charles IX and Henri III. A Roman Catholic, he eventually embraced the Protestant cause. A formidable warlord, he was assassinated on the night of Saint Barthèlemy. Antique manufacture by Gustave Vertunni, France, circa 1940. Solid lead figurine. Scale 55mm to eye line.
