Marguerite de Valois (1553-1615). She was for a time queen of Navarre by marrying Henri, king of Navarre and future Henri IV. An independent woman married to an unfaithful prince, she accepted the annulment of the marriage. She is better known under the name of “Queen Margot”, but she was never queen of France. Antique manufacture by Gustave Vertunni, France, circa 1950. Hollow lead figurine, filled with plaster. Scale 55mm to the eye line. Overall height : 60 – 65mm.
