La Belle Ferronnière (1500-?). She was the mistress of King François 1er. Out of jealousy, her husband inoculated himself with syphilis to infect the king. She is best known for Leonardo da Vinci’s painting of her. Today, it’s accepted that it’s a portrait of someone else. Early manufacture by Gustave Vertunni, France, circa 1930. Hollow lead figurine.
