Vertunni. Charles V “The Wise”.

90,00

Charles V (1338-1380) known as “The Wise”. Son of Jean le Bon and Bonne de Luxembourg. He married Jeanne de Bourbon. He was a great king despite the lack of confidence that characterized his youth. He had to face very quickly the political and moral cataclysm caused by the defeat of Poitiers (1356) and the “prison” in England of his father John the Good. The revolt of the Parisians led by Etienne Marcel, the English threat, the betrayals of Charles le Mauvais, king of Navarre and the ravages of the Great Companies are as many traps that he knew how to avoid for the benefit of the kingdom. Old manufacture of Gustave Vertunni, France, around 1940. Hollow lead figurine, filled with plaster. Scale 55mm to the eye line. Overall height: 60 – 65mm.
